I've been on a creative kick, due to all the diet coke I've been consuming. I tend to become more creative when I'm drinking diet coke (only diet, the regular doesn't work the same way. And yes. I realize this is all in my head.). Today Mums and I went for a (very) brisk walk at Borderland state park, which, as it turned out, was still quite snowy from yesterday's storm. It inspired me to knit like mad when we got back. And that in turn, inspired me to rearrange my room and make more space for crafting and such. And when that was complete, the state of my newly organized room inspired me to make a bunch of fascinators and pumpkin muffins with Gashlycrumb tiny toppers (because nothing says Halloween like doomed children...)

Saturday; A Picture Every Hour.
When I first moved to Carver from Albany, I worked full time for a butcher. And that's what I did today. Brought glamor to the butcher shop.
After butchering for a few hours, Lizzie Revolution came by and whisked me away to Providence and more specifically, the very best sushi bar on the East Coast (As far as I know...), Tokyo. With zombie movies following that.
A very decent Saturday, in my opinion.

Rainy Birthday Friday
Bugs has turned two! And as it was a chilly, rainy (however, lovely with the amazing New England foliage), somewhat gloomy day, all we did was take naps and bake. I found a good recipe for Pumpkin Cupcakes on the back of a Jiffy box (I don't think I've mentioned how much I love Jiffy mixes... I do love them. They are more or less all purpose, inexpensive and VINTAGE! Well... vintage-looking...).
I wish I could remember what I put in the apple crisp. I believe it was apples, frozen organic raspberries, sucanat (a natural, organic sugar substitute), and the top was a mix of quick-oats, brown sugar, a little cinnamon, nutmeg and butter. Then I baked it until it "looked done" and the house smelled like fall. I tend to leave baking to fate, but so far that has worked for me. I am far less likely to actually follow a recipe, or leave it be and not tamper with it. There's a good recipe here. And if you add a bag of frozen strawberries, or blueberries, or pineapple, or mango, or raspberries to the mix, you are to be congratulated on your adventurous spirit. Keep up the good work.

Sunday Afternoon
I was quite sick of my surroundings on Sunday afternoon, so I changed them. And found all sorts of lovely things. Abandoned mills in Taunton, A lake in Somersette (I could be wrong... I was lost. But that was entirely my intention.), nifty shells, rocks and bits of driftwood, and a fascinating elderly lady at the gas station who stopped to chat as if we were old friends.
