Happy Halloween!

Two costume changes! The first, of course, is the truly outrageous Jem from Jem and the Holograms (Liz gave me the pink wig when she gave up on the idea of jem, and as I am feeling more than a little ill and have done really nothing else today but sleep and watch episodes of Jem, I decided to try it out.).
And the second is my take on 1955 Bettie Crocker! I got the dress at Marshalls for $3 last year at the end of the season. And I was up until two a.m., finishing the apron last night. This costume sort of became 1955 Bettie Crocker Barbie after a while, and hours and hours of mindnumbing sewing til all hours. I'm pretty psyched with the outcome!

It's Almost Halloweentimes...

I've just decided to do one of the above lovely ladies for halloween. I was between a Tribal fusion dancer(as I already have half the outfit) and a Rollergirl (as I already have the whole getup). But whilst sewing miss Liz Revolution's costume last night (Pictures soon!!), I had a spontaneous brainstorm, and decided exactly what I was going to do. Now if I can only get it done! My house has turned into Project Runway; Raynham Edition. Lizzie and I were up until almost 2 a.m. this morning, sewing. It would be so nice if we could get Tim Gunn for our mentor, letting us know all would be marvelous and fabulous and to make it work, and reminding us exactly how much time is left til Halloween and not to send an unfinished garment down the runway. Le Sigh.
Though, she is probably not what I will be doing (terribly sorry if I got your hopes up on this one), Ms. Betty Crocker 1986 is looking quite saucy in that floppy bow and with that sultry gaze...
