What's Next.

Although, it shouldn't be next as I barely have a handle on the Ukulele... it's going to be. I have a music problem. I keep buying bits and pieces, and now I've found a lovely little shop in Kingston that supplies all those bits and pieces. I just put a USB audio interface on hold. I've never used one and I don't know how to use one (in fact I just found out what it looks like), but I'm sure I can figure it out (if you know, please let me know!). Now I have my eye on a Fender banjo that I spotted in the city. I only just touched a banjo for the very first time last weekend. But it only has five strings! How hard can it possibly be?! And that is why I have a problem. "How hard can it possibly be?" and then WHAM. I buy it.
Over the past few weeks I have purchased a laptop (solely for musicalish purposes), a new mic, a few stands, numerous strings for various instruments, etc. I go to shows not to see a show but to hear different types of lyric writing and different styles of guitar playing.
So, here is what inspires me lately (and helps add to my new little addiction...).

And Then

I left LA and officially began my new year in quiet (pretty much) little Plymouth. LA was nice, but it's also nice to be back. So far this year, I've taken the munchkins to the Boston Aquarium, signed up for an open mic night (oooooh look out!), cut my hair again (pictures soon), broken my resolution to always look good, no matter what or where, deleted facebook (WHAT?! Yes. I've more important things to focus on), and gained a lastFM account (amazing! I've been on it all day.... almost), and paid off all my debts and credit cards. I'm feeling pretty good about myself. Yay me. Well.... except the looking good always part...

DisneyLAAAAAANNNNDDD!

I honest to goodness did not believe all my dreams would come true by visiting Disneyland. Nor did I have any desire to deal with what I thought was going to be the Mecca of all small screaming children. I was terribly terribly wrong.
At eight o clock on Day 3 I was pitching fits about being dragged to Disneyland. Then at ten thirty, when we arrived and Liz, very wisely, led me to the Star Tours ride, and I decided I'd like to stay forever.
All of my dreams have not come true, but then I ONLY spent eleven hours there....
We waited through some ridiculous lines, which turned out to be totally worth it for Pirates of the Caribbean, and India Jones. And while watching the Jedi training camp (I was too tall to play. And they don't allow anyone who could actually beat their pathetic looking Darth Vader.), I had the best Mocha. Ever. The whole experience was magical. Thanks to Liz for dragging me there. I say we pack up our things and move in.

El Ay....Day Two

Yayayayayayaaaaaaay....

Bettie Page shop on Hollywood!

New Years' resolution in full effect. No more wheat! In n Out cheeseburger on lettuce!

I woke up on day 2 and it hit me.... It's WARM, dude.... And today is January.... So, it didn't much feel like New Years Day, but it was the lovliest one ever.
We skibbled around Hollywood all day, and took pictures, and gawked at tourists and made plans for Disneyland. Visited In n Out burger for the first time since two years ago (far too long). And walked alllllll over kingdom come.
We saw Sherlock Holmes at Graummans (sp?) Chinese Theater, and it was magnificent. And on our way out of the theater, ran into a life size Transformer! Liz wouldn't let me go near it... I would have had to get in a 15 minute line behind a hundred 13 year old boys, so I took pictures from afar.
We enjoyed a very full day, and a long long walk that we finally gave up on and took a cab the rest of the way...
It was glorious!
